TECH: A Future U.S. Army of THE FLASH??

A Future U.S. Army of THE FLASH??

We’re you ever the slowest kid in school? Wished you could be as fast as that Pat Gibson kid who always beat everyone in PE class and made it look easy? Well now you CAN! And I’ll show you HOW after the jump.

Hello everyone and WELCOME to another 10 Reasons Why Show: Tech with me Scott Tomasso. It’s the show that highlights the day’s HOTTEST TECH… for you the layman.

Usain Bolt, Carl Lewis, Jesse Owens, Florence Griffith-Joyner, Michael Johnson, Quicksilver, the Flash. What do all of these world-class athletes and superheroes have in common? They’re all about to be slower than YOU! That’s right, YOU can now become the fastest man or woman alive by doing one thing… getting your hands on one of these.

This… is a jet pack. And the good people over at Arizona State University are creating a JET PACK that isn’t designed to fly… No no, that’s much too easy. it’s actually designed to make soldiers faster in the field of battle. Think “Edge of Tomorrow” minus the artillery power.

Now, while it’s CURRENT design won’t turn you into Usain Bolt or Tyson Gay – yet – it does INCREASE your ability to have instantaneous thrust and allow you to make much faster movements. The GOAL of this jet pack device? To enhance the speed and agility of the wearer so they can easily run a four minute mile. Why the four minute mile? Why not I say!

Now… SO FAR… it’s allowed runners to shave off nearly 20 seconds from their mile time. While that doesn’t SOUND like an astronomical amount, you need to keep in mind that the jet pack itself weighs 11 pounds. See if you can run faster with a pair of 5 pound dumb bells in your hands. It’s also shown that the user actually exerts LESS energy than he or she would withOUT the pack.  Me… well, I’d just settle for the ability to actually FINISH a mile run. Im kidding. Sort of.

So what does it all mean? It means soldiers will be faster and quicker than their adversaries – which in the warfare arena COULD mean the difference between life or death. It also means you’re going to give THE FLASH and QUICKSILVER a run for their money. But you will most CERTAINLY be faster than that Pat Gibson kid in P.E. class.

So what do you guys think? Would you want to get your hands on one of these things? Will it be as big an asset to our soldiers as advertised? Let us know in the comments below.

Until next time… I’m Scott Tomasso. Now go tech yourself before you wreck yourself.
